Subsystem Design and Development Service

2.2 Subsystem Design and Development Service

The performance and safety of railway vehicles are directly dependent on the proper design and integration of their subsystems. KAAF provides comprehensive engineering services for the design, development, and integration of critical onboard and underframe subsystems.

Our subsystem design services cover a broad technical scope, including bogies and running gear, braking systems, traction and power transmission systems, carbody and chassis structures, control and command systems, and auxiliary systems. Each subsystem is addressed in accordance with the relevant EN standards, UIC requirements, and project specifications.

KAAF applies a systems engineering approach in subsystem development projects. Through this approach, interfaces between subsystems are clearly defined, integration risks are reduced, and technical consistency is maintained throughout the project. Where required, prototype manufacturing, testing, and validation activities are also included within the project scope.

Our subsystem design and development services are not limited to new vehicle projects alone. We also provide subsystem solutions focused on performance improvement for existing vehicles, cost-reducing redesigns, and modernization-oriented upgrades. In this way, KAAF delivers flexible, reliable, and sustainable engineering solutions to its customers.
